This lovely Debbie Shore Gingerbread Biscuits Apron panel from The Craft Cotton Company is perfect for a Christmas craft project and would make an ideal Christmas gift. The panel includes the apron template, neck and waist straps, a pocket and instructions on how to make the apron. Printed on the apron is a Gingerbread biscuit recipe.

There is also a Debbie Shore Gingerbread Biscuits Fat Quarter Bundle available.  The designs include Gingerbread Houses, a baking design, a gingerbread recipe print, a gingerbread man print and a stunning Christmas mugs print. Some of the designs in the fat quarter bundle are replicated in the apron panel; the recipe design is used for the neck and waist straps; the Gingerbread People print is used at the top and bottom of the apron panel as well as for the pocket and the baking design is used for the main part of the panel with a different red background.

Please note that there is a small error in the recipe on the apron panel; the flour should be included with the other ingredients listed at the rubbing-in stage in the first instruction.

The red background on the apron panel co-ordinates with the red in the Gingerbread Biscuits Christmas Mugs fabric, so this would be ideal to use if you wanted to make a reversible apron. Sew the pocket onto the apron panel first following the instructions on the panel, then cut the apron shape from the Gingerbread Mugs fabric using the apron template from the panel as a guide. If you want a pocket on the Mugs side of the apron too, cut a 30 x 19 cm section of the fabric, hem and sew this into place using the same instruction as for the panel. Hem the neck and waist straps according to the instructions. Pin the right sides of the mug fabric and the apron panel together, insert the neck and waist straps making sure these are inside the fabrics so they turn out on the right side of the apron, use a 1/2 inch seam allowance and stitch all the way around leaving a 4-inch gap at the bottom for turning, then turn out and overstitch all the way around the apron using a 1/4 inch seam allowance to give a professional finish and to close the gap for turning out. You will then have a beautiful reversible apron! The Gingerbread Mugs print is available to purchase individually by the metre, half metre and fat quarter. A metre of fabric is sufficient to back the apron panel, add a pocket if required and still have some left over for other craft projects.

These are 100% cotton craft quality fabrics, perfect for Christmas crafting.
